Students explored how a simple shape can turn into an object! We took 6 triangles and created fish out of them. Students also were able to identify warm and cool colors through the creation of their triangle fish!
Students practiced drawing people using shapes instead of lines!
Students learned about owls and patterns through this Midnight Owl lesson!
1st graders learned about artist's Henri Matisse and Reggie Laurent and viewed their work for inspiration! They "drew with their scissors" like Matisse and added colors and patterns like Laurent. Check out their work below! Can you find any organic or geometric shapes?
The Noisy Paint Box
1st graders have been learning about abstract art and for this project they learned about abstract artist Kandinsky. Kandinsky is an artist who was inspired by music, so for this project students started with a line that they created by listening to "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi. When the music would change the students would change their line to match the music. After they created their initial line to start the artwork they then used crayons and watercolor paints to fill in the new shapes that were created!
