Artist Spotlight

Every month I will be taking submissions for my Artist Spotlight. Students will turn in artwork that they have created on their own or with a friend outside of the art room. I will be choosing 2-4 artists from the submissions to be our Spotlight Artists for the month! Artist Spotlight is optional for students but it does encourage students to continue to create and think creatively outside the art room!

April Artist Spotlight during online learning

Our artist spotlight takes a different form for the month of April! Check out Lucy's narwhal shown below! Her narwhal is being displayed at the Ann Arbor Art Center for the month of March for Youth Art Month. Because of COVID-19 the show has been extended into April. Local chalk artist David Zinn has been creating chalk images around Ann Arbor and stopped in front of Lucy's clay piece to create a drawing! He has titled it "Feet of Clay, Heart of Joy". Check out the beautiful chalk drawing next to the clay narwhal below!!
