Sometimes in the Art Room the students participate in sketchbook challenges. In these challenges the students draw a popsicle stick and on each popsicle stick there is a different prompt for them to draw. Check out some of these 5th graders' creative sketches!
Graffiti Walls
Students had a discussion whether they thought graffiti is a form of art and when it is appropriate to create graffiti. We looked at famous graffiti artists likes Jean-Michel Basquiat. Students then chose a word that inspires them or that they like and they created their word in a graffiti style. The 5th graders blew me away with their creativity and variety of ideas! Check them out below!
